What to expect

Our students look forward to the Fun Run every year! This year, our theme is Rainbow Run, and we’re excited for a fun, high-energy event filled with color and school spirit. Our Spirit Wear Team will also be pre-selling branded Rainbow Run shorts in all the colors of the rainbow, so students can show off their school spirit on race day!

Every student gets a FREE Rainbow Run t-shirt, a race bib to automatically track their laps, a medal for participating in the race, and a refreshing snack from our generous local community sponsors.

 

Each race heat starts on the hour at 8 a.m., 9 a.m., and 10 a.m., with UTK starting at 8:15 a.m. Students will take their mark and complete a “walking lap” around the course. Once they complete an entire lap, they can choose to walk, jog, or run the rest of the race.

Families and friends are encouraged to come to campus and cheer students on! Give them a big wave, a smile, a cheer, or anything you can to keep them moving and having fun. DJ Dev will be on the turntables keeping the energy high with an upbeat playlist, and fun, positive signs are always encouraged!

Post-race, each class will head to the lunch tables to hydrate and enjoy a refreshing snack before heading back to their classroom for the remainder of the half day.

If your student requires any accommodations during the event, please let the school office know as soon as possible.

Volunteers are always welcome and are a big part of making this event happen! We’ll send out a SignUpGenius with opportunities to help chalk inspirational messages along the course, set up tables for our sponsors, pin race bibs onto students’ shirts before the race, staff the water stations, and help with event breakdown and cleanup.
